Nut (also known as Nuit) is the netert (female deity) of the sky. She is a primordial deity covered with starlight arching over the land of the earth. Geb is the neter (male deity) of the earth with whom she is eternally connected. Nut and Geb are the parents of Asar and Auset (Osiris and Isis) who represent the universal light of the soul and cosmic intelligence. Nut is both the sun-filled sky and luminous sparkling firmament. Geb is simultaneously the fertile life bearing soil and the barren desert. Together their collective duality creates wholeness that radiates from their eternal embrace.
