Anu is an ancient Sumerian sky deity regarded as the primeval ruler of the constellations and celestial bodies. In the ancient cosmogony of the Sumerians - the Annunaki translates as "those who Anu sent from heaven to Earth." They are associated with the Nephilim - a group of giants.

In many ancient cultures (Mayan, Olmec and Ancient Kemet/Egypt) the serpent is a symbol of the ultimate creative life force. The shedding of the snakes skin is symbolic of renewal, rebirth and eternal spiritual knowledge. Our DNA itself is formed in the shape of two intertwining serpents spiraling one another.
